Chapter ?? -- What's Next
Body work is done and painting is finished. Mechanically, the car is fully assembled. The interior is done and installed. The brakes and clutch have been filled and bled. Front end alignment was checked and verified. Test drive was successful. We managed roughly 2 miles around the neighborhood with no problems and used all five gears on the first trip. Later trips have been around Lake Hefner a couple of times and to Dairy Queen for treats. Onslow is now home for the winter while I work on the Volkswagen at the shop. For now I anticipate the following, probably in the given order, more or less.
- Find and fix electrical problems causing fuel gauge, tach, speedo and possibly others to not function.
- Install the new hood (convertible top), probably next winter. We want to have fun with it this summer.
- Maybe install the boot badge.
